Likewise, the requirements listed refer to the axis diplomat software only and not any requirements of third party software which may interact with axis diplomat such as Microsoft Office or Microsoft SQL Server.

Workstations
Workstation Operating Systems
axis diplomat 2018 is designed for use with the following minimum specification of workstation:

Please note that Microsoft Windows 10 Home is specifically NOT supported. This is targeted by Microsoft at the home user. We do not support the use of axis diplomat on this operating system.

axis diplomat is designed for use with the following minimum specification of server:

In addition, small 'peer to peer' networks of between two and five workstations may use the following operating system on the workstation acting as the axis diplomat database 'server':
- Microsoft Windows 10 Pro

* axis diplomat is specifically optimised to support terminal services and this environment delivers optimal performance over LAN, WAN and remote or mobile worker applications.

Entry level servers (2 to 8 user): Recommended minimum RAID1 (mirrored pair) 7200rpm SATA drives.
Mid-range servers: (> 8 user): Recommended minimum RAID1 (mirrored pair) or RAID10 SAS drives.
Please note that the performance of the drive sub-system will dramatically influence the overall performance of your axis diplomat installation.

Disk Space
|
Between 500MB and 800MB disk space for programs (dependant on number of axis diplomat packages installed) plus recommended minimum of 2GB for data.
Note: The actual amount of disk space required will vary widely between systems depending on the way in which they are used. For example, a system with eBusiness integration to a number of web sites where all custom stock data and images are held in (and published from) axis diplomat may consume many tens of Gigabytes. Backups taken both using axis diplomat's built-in backup facilities and any third party backup solutions will also vary correspondingly in their disk space needs.

- Removable media (e.g. RDX) or tape drive (e.g. LTO) with approved backup software (i.e. Microsoft Windows System Backup, Symantec System Recovery, Acronis Backup & Recovery Altaro Hyper-V Backup )

Email integration
- SMTP compliant server (recommended) e.g. Microsoft Exchange Server or;
- MAPI client (Microsoft Outlook).
Note that if MAPI is used, a local installation of Microsoft Outlook (2003 or later) is required on the client environment in which the axis diplomat client is running (e.g. a user's workstation or Windows Terminal Services / Remote Desktop). Please note that 64 bit versions of Microsoft Outlook are not supported.
Contact Synchronisation
Contact synchronisation is supported via Microsoft Exchange Server (or Office 365) web services. The following versions of MS Exchange Server are supported:
- Microsoft Exchange 2014
- Microsoft Exchange 2010
- Microsoft Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1 (or later).
ODBC Database
For axis diplomat SBE (Small Business Edition) one of the following database products must be installed (please note that axis diplomat SBE will not run with SQL Express):
- Microsoft SQL Server 2016
- Microsoft SQL Server 2014
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012
For axis diplomat Express one of the following database products must be installed:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2017
- Microsoft SQL Server 2016
- Microsoft SQL Server 2014

- Microsoft SQL Server Experss 2014*
* If you intend to use Microsoft SQL Express, please check the Microsoft documentation to ensure that limitations on this edition of SQL do not render it unsuitable for your system. axisfirst recommends SQL Express for use in conjunction with axis diplomat express edition only. Microsoft SQL Express is limited to support for 1 physical processor, 1 GB memory, and 4 GB storage.
