For all versions of axis diplomat since axis diplomat 2010, the presence of a Microsoft SQL Server is mandatory (for axis diplomat 2008 and below, the presence of a database server was optional although certain functionality was unavailable if it was not present).

*  If you intend to use Microsoft SQL Express, please check the Microsoft documentation to ensure that limitations on this edition of SQL do not render it unsuitable for your system. For example, amongst its limitations, Microsoft SQL Express 2019 can only support 4 processor cores and databases no larger than 10GB.

axisfirst only supports SQL Express for use in conjunction with axis diplomat Express edition.

Thin Clients

The following thin client software is approved by axisfirst when connecting to servers using Microsoft's Remote Desktop Services (previously known as Terminal Services):

Microsoft Office

Some functionality within axis diplomat (such as call attachment creation) requires a local installation of Microsoft Office on the client environment in which the axis diplomat client is running. This could mean the user's workstation or Windows Terminal Services / Remote Desktop.

Note 2

axis diplomat 2014 through axis diplomat 2022 include both 32-bit and 64-bit clients; axis diplomat 2024 is exclusively for 64-bit clients.

Note 3

Only those server operating systems specifically listed as Virtualised are supported in a virtualised environment

Note 4

Ordinarily, only environments that are in mainstream support for the whole of the period during which a given axis diplomat release is itself in mainstream support are included. An exception was made for axis diplomat 2018 and Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2012 R2. This was to take into account the extension made by Microsoft to the extended support period for those environments. Although both Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012R2 are no longer within mainstream support, extended support for these products did not end until 10/10/2023, later than the end of mainstream support for axis diplomat 2018 (01/10/2022). This was a policy exception by axisfirst and not a general policy change. Furthermore, due to security configuration changes, as of 09/05/2024, HMRC are no longer able to accept RTI payroll submissions from systems running Windows Server 2012 R2 or below or from workstations with Windows 8 or below.
